It is true, the beauty industry is vast, showy and very profitable. We all have contributed to generating this year, an estimated amount of 62.46 billion dollars and this in the US only.
Quite scary if you are seeing what is happening all around us. Don’t you think? It is therefore even more important, that we as consumers become more aware and educated about our shopping behaviors and adjust them accordingly.
For example, why not support smaller, Indie brands that are cruelty-free, vegan or organic? Why not research the ingredient lists of products that you are interested in from bigger brands. Why not even support premium brands, that might have expensive products but also a solid social or environmental program in place?
Wouldn’t we after all as consumers, want to put the best ingredients on our faces and bodies, at the best possible price / performance ratio, while doing something good for our environment?
CHANTECAILLE for example, is one of those high-end family owned skincare and beauty Brands that has an amazing Philanthropic platform that allows it’s customers, together with the brand, to give something back to the environment.
The company launches specifically designed and themed beauty products, that are dedicated to raising awareness for endangered species. Part of their revenue goes to various organizations in order to protect wildlife.
The company’s current project, is dedicated to the protection of the Lions. The collection was “created to bring awareness to the groundbreaking work of the Lion Guardians, a conservation group based in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, the Lion Palette was inspired by the beautiful coats of lion cubs.” 5% of each palette sold will be donated to the Lion Guardians conservation group and this is a cause I am more than willing to support.
These eyeshadow quads usually contain a total of 13g/0.42oz of product. The shadows are housed in a beautifully designed high-quality plastic casing with a mirror. The palettes retail for approximately 83$. Unfortunately, the current palette is sold out on the CHANTECAILLE website but you can still find it at NETAPORTER here.
Now when it comes down to the quality of these quads, I can say that you will not be disappointed. The ingredients are carefully selected and the pigmentation is equally good. I am owning Le Magnolia eye and cheek palette and I was happy with my purchase. Just be aware that some of the shadows might be a bit grainy ( like Bark) but this is something I can live with. Here are the swatches from Le Magnolia palette and the super easy everyday look I created, including a mini tutorial. (Be aware that the formula does contain amounts talk.)
Step 1: Use Magnolia all over eyelid
Step 2: Apply Leaf in the crease and blend towards brow bone and outer corner
Step 3: Apply Magnolia to highlight inner corner
Step 4: Apply Bark on outer corner
Step 5: Smudge Bark on the lower lash line
Step 6: Apply Magnolia on brow bone to highlight
Add two cotes of mascara and Wild to your cheeks and your done.
As always, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave your comments and remarks below, I would be more than happy to hear your thoughts. If you also happen to know similar brands, please comment down below.
