It s been a while, I know but there has been so much going on this month. It’s crazy if you think about it! In a few days, we will have already reached the month of August!
Although I didn’t have the chance to be so active this month, post-wise, I had the opportunity to test some amazing products (and some not so great ones) and now I finally have a minute to start putting my reviews in a couple of blog posts I will be publishing in the next couple of weeks.
Today’s post is dedicated to the second part of the long anticipated full coverage foundation from The Ordinary. For those of you that follow my blog, you might remember that the Serum was a complete disappointment and a no go for me (more details about this review you can find here). I had ordered both foundations but the full converge one took a world detour till it finally reached my doorstep.
After giving this foundation a good test round I am glad to say, Ladies and Gentleman, that we finally have a winner! This is a great foundation indeed! The formula is right, the amount is right, the price is correct. But allow me to break it down to you a bit more!
The main reason why I like this product is because it feels very lightweight to the skin. It doesn’t sink into my fine lines and is super potent at the same time. This is truly a high coverage foundation and the coverage is really natural.
On top of it, this is a longwearing foundation. I have been rocking it through some hard-core working days at the office applying it from 06:30 in the morning till 18:00 in the evening and it’s a real trouper (make sure to apply a thin layer though). With some shine coming through at the end of the day, I would dare to say that this would be a great option for those of us with normal to combination skins. The price is unbeatable. For 6.90€ or 8.00CHF you get 30ml of product that comes in 21 shades (mine is in shade 1.2N). This bumps it straight to the affordable and good category!
This water based foundation has an SPF15 which is always good, plus it does come in a pump which allows an easier product distribution and is more hygienic. The formula has no distinctive scent which I appreciate and a shelve life of 12months. Just know, that it does contain Silicon, as well as, Bismuth Oxychloride and Dimethicone which are not the best of the best ingredients for those with sensitive and allergy prone skin. However, this is a cruelty-, glute-, soy-, nut-, oil- and alcohol-free product.
All-over I like how this foundation applied, covered and wore throughout the day. So if you are looking for an affordable product that feels good and performs, then this might be the one for you.
As always, I hope that you’ve found this review helpful. Let me know in case you have tested this foundation already, what your thoughts are? If not, would you consider buying it?
